In the beginning of this year, all was good in the world. Or at least it seemed that way for a lot of us. In January, my friends and I took a short break from our regular workout routine and we tried something new: group personal training sessions with certified trainers who taught us about weightlifting and nutrition. The workouts were amazing! Our muscles bulged and we had tasty food tasty enough to feed any vegan thanks to Chef Ben (@CopperSauce). We were on top of the world when things started to get more complicated in March. Along with many other people, I became afflicted with what's known as "the winter blahs. ” I was exhausted all the time despite getting decent sleep. And, when I wasn't sleeping, my mind wandered. I found myself doing things like cleaning out my hard drive and reorganizing my pantry in the middle of the night. What was going on? Why was I so unproductive? When I asked for help on Twitter, @UandICreate replied that what was wrong with me was that my brain lacked dopamine (the pleasure molecule). He suggested that I should take action to boost it with meditation or playing video games; either activity would release the pleasure chemical into my system via a process called neuroplasticity. Not feeling like doing either, I turned to food instead. I found something on the web called "The Epic Sauce." It was touted as a cure for blahs and gave step-by-step instructions on how to create it. I followed them and two days later, I didn't feel like my old self anymore. The Epic Sauce is akin to eating your favorite foods over and over again while watching reruns of your favorite TV shows. It's a combination of turkey, bacon, mayo and cheese made with mustard and ketchup and seasoned with salt and pepper. It's also very addictive and can be made in large batches. The Epic Sauce is great on burgers, tacos, wraps and even pizza. I keep a jar of it in my fridge and eat it as a snack or as a side dish to any meal and I feel like I'm eating something that’s bad for me, but it isn't. It's actually really good for me because it boosts my dopamine levels. I know some people are grossed out by the thought of eating food that's been flavored with bacon, mayo, ketchup and mustard. But you will feel great after eating it because of the dopamine boost. That's exactly what I felt after eating the Epic Sauce for breakfast for a couple days in a row. I was even able to go to work on Tuesday without feeling tired, which is hard for me because I am usually dead tired by noon on Mondays. After I started eating The Epic Sauce, my mood improved as well as my productivity. My creativity came back too thanks to an improvement in my mental focus. cfa1e77820
